失われていく大切な記憶を残すというテーマのもと、自己の記憶、他者の記憶、時代の記憶をモチーフに、抽象的なイメージとして練り上げた作品シリーズを制作してきた。

誰かの心に残る、色とりどりの想いを内包する記憶。それらの記憶の形を永く後世に引き継いでいくにはどうすればいいのか。

過去、人々の想いや教訓は、「神」などの宗教的なものに託され、時代を超えてきた。

現代の日本における「神」とは、何か。それは、自身も影響を受けている漫画やアニメ、またはアイドルなどの推し文化のなかにあるのかもしれない。

様々な要素を受け入れ、独自の発展を遂げる日本の現代文化を背景に、古今東西の神のイメージを取り入れることで、「今」の記憶を神格化させた「記憶の守り神」とも呼べる作品を生み出す。

そしてそれは、最強の記憶媒体である陶の力を借りて、遥か未来へと引き継がれていく。

Under the theme of preserving precious memories that are fading away, I have created a series of works that embody the memories of myself, others, and our times as abstract forms through the use of the potter’s wheel.
How can we pass down these shapes of memory—filled with colorful emotions and traces left in people’s hearts—to future generations?
In the past, human thoughts and lessons were entrusted to religious figures such as “gods,” allowing them to transcend time.
What, then, is “god” in contemporary Japan?
Perhaps it exists within the culture of manga, anime, or idols—the very culture that has also influenced me.
Drawing inspiration from contemporary Japanese culture, which continuously absorbs diverse elements and evolves in unique ways, I create works that could be called “guardian deities of memory,” incorporating images of gods both ancient and modern.
With the enduring power of ceramics—the strongest vessel of memory—I aim to carry these memories far into the future.
